The safety of our community, especially younger users, is the highest priority for us at Nebulosa Studios. Friends Nearby was created to strengthen real-world friendships, and a safe environment is the foundation for this to happen.
These standards set our rules and provide resources so that everyone, including parents and guardians, can have a positive and safe experience.
1. Our Commitment to Safety
- Zero Tolerance: We do not tolerate any form of child exploitation, bullying, harassment, hate speech, or behavior that puts minors at risk.
- Proactive Moderation: We use moderation systems, including artificial intelligence, to analyze user-generated content (photos and text in Points of Interest) and proactively remove material that violates our policies.
- Cooperation with Law Enforcement: We will cooperate fully with legal authorities in investigations related to child safety on our platform.
2. Age Restriction
Friends Nearby is intended for users 16 years of age and older. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 16 to create an account or use our services. If we become aware that a profile belongs to a user below this age, the account will be removed immediately.
3. Community Guidelines - What is Not Allowed:
- Content Harmful to Minors: Any content that exploits, endangers, or sexualizes minors.
- Harassment and Bullying: Stalking, intimidation, threats, or derogatory comments directed at other users.
- Hate Speech: Content that promotes violence or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
- Nudity and Sexual Content: Photos or text with nudity, sexual acts, or sexually explicit language.
- Personal Information: Do not share other people's private information without consent, such as phone numbers, addresses, or documents.
4. Our Safety Features
We designed Friends Nearby with features that give you control:
- Mutual Sharing: You can only see the location of friends who have also agreed to share their location with you.
- Privacy Control: At any time, you can disable your location sharing through a single switch on your profile.
- Content and User Reporting: (If you find a Point of Interest (POI) or a user that violates our guidelines, use the in-app reporting tool to alert us immediately).
5. Tips for Parents and Guardians
We encourage parents to talk openly with their children about online safety.
- Dialogue: Talk about the risks of sharing location and interacting with strangers online.
- Monitor: Be aware of the apps your children use.
- Report: If you suspect any inappropriate activity or find a profile you believe belongs to a minor under 16, contact us immediately.
